Slow Second Quarter Dooms Redhawks at Utah Tech

St. George, Utah - Seattle U women's basketball (1-11, 1-2 WAC) opened the new year on the road, falling to Utah Tech, 65-81, in St. George, Utah. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) contest took place at the Burns Arena on the campus of Utah Tech.

St. George, Utah - Seattle U women's basketball (1-11, 1-2 WAC) opened the new year on the road, falling to Utah Tech, 65-81, in St. George, Utah. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) contest took place at the Burns Arena on the campus of Utah Tech.

Mya Moore led the Redhawks in scoring on the evening, posting 20 points on 7-for-14 (50%) from the field to go along with a career-best 13 rebounds for first career double-double. 

Asta Blauenfeldt chipped in 16 points on an efficient 7-for-11 (63.6%) with two made three pointers. The sophomore from Kongens Lyngby, Denmark, set new career-highs in rebounds (six), assists (five) and steals (four).

Makayla Moore and Aannah Interrante also marked double figure points on the night, with the latter tying her career-high (10). 

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Redhawks and Trailblazers went back-and-forth early on, with this Makayla Moore three-pointer cutting the lead to four going into the second quarter.

Utah Tech came out hot in that second quarter, opening with a 13-0 run. Seattle U brought the game to as close as 12 in the fourth but were unable to overcome the early deficit.
