USAF, Colo. - Seattle U men's and women's swimming dropped their match up with Air Force academy, with final scores of 70.5 to 130.5 and 56 to 145, Friday afternoon in Colorado. Despite the loss, several Redhaws shined in the pool, including Sarah Cook, Nicholas Imig, and Cole Lanting.

"Really long but great day for Redhawk Swimming," said head coach Joe Dykstra. "We left campus at 4:45am this morning and just finished a meet at 7250ft elevation 15 hours later so a very tough day, yet we had a few best times and a bunch of season bests (altitude adjusted)."

Cook, a sophomore, won the 400 Yard IM with a time of 4:34.46 (4:27.46 adjusted). Her time was a personal best and places her third in the Seattle U record books.

The men's 400 Medley Relay team of Danielis Kvederis, Brandan Ryan, Cole Lanting, and Nicholas Imig took home first with a time of 3:20.79 (3:13.79 adjusted). Imig also placed first in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 20.75, while Lanting finished first in the 100 Freestyle at 46.29 (46.14 adjusted).

To add to their impressive days, Lanting and Imig were also a part of the 400 Free relay team that placed first. Joined by Hawkins Wendt and Kvederis, they finished with a time of 3:02.60 (2:55.60 adjusted).

"Cook hit the third best 400 IM performance in school history and our men's relays and sprinters really stepped up and got us 4 wins," Dykstra added. "Now we are excited to go down to Denver tomorrow for a sprint format and should see some more good swimming!"

The Redhawks will head over Denver for tomorrow's Sprint Eliminators at the University of Denver. The meet, which features both Denevr and Air Force, is scheduled to start at 11:30am PT.
