SEATTLE, WA - Seattle U Track and Field kicked off their indoor season at the UW Preview on Saturday, January 13. The meet included some impressive performances, most notably from junior Lilianne Hargreaves, who set a new school record for the women's indoor 3k.
Hargreaves finished the 3k with a time of 9:45.93, breaking the previous record of 9:51.28 by over five seconds. Yonas Sauers also had a notable performance in the men's 3k with a time of 8:22.69, earning a sixth place spot in school records.
Freshman Sean Ellison had an impressive first performance for Seattle U by jumping a mark of 12.99 meters in the men's triple jump, earning him a seventh place spot in school records.
Sophomore Miguel Rosario continued his impress performances in the 60 meter dash, tying his own school record that he set last February with a time of 6.80.
In the women's 60 meter dash, freshman Manthita Wague finished with an impressive time of 8.22 in her first collegiate meet. Sophomore Julie Smith was close behind with her time of 8.24. Graduate transfer Mikaela Rosario also impressed in her first performance for SU with a time of 8.38 in the 60 meter dash.
The Redhawks set a new handful of personal records in the men's 1000 meter run, including Lance Mason and Alex Jensen, with their times of 2:32.60 and 2:33.25, respectively. Parker Wagnild and Khalid Hirsi also set personal records with their times of 2:39.05 and 2:41.47, respectively.
Sophomore's Zoe Tibbo and Jocelyn Garcia also set new personal records, Tibbo in the triple jump with a mark of 10.13 meters and Garcia with a time of 1:03.94 in the 400 meter dash.
The Redhawks will continue their indoor season at the UW Invitational on January 26 and 27.
