Mya Moore's Double-Double Not Enough Thursday

SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball (1-13, 1-4 WAC) marked its first home contest of the 2024 calender year on Thursday evening, falling to UTRGV, 77-84, despite Mya Moore's second career double-double. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle.

SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball (1-13, 1-4 WAC) marked its first home contest of the 2024 calender year on Thursday evening, falling to UTRGV, 77-84, despite Mya Moore's second career double-double. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle. 

Moore's second double-double in three games included 15 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and a career-best four blocks. 

Makayla Moore posted her best career collegiate performance, scoring a career-high 23 points that was also the game-high. Moore also set career-bests in rebounds (seven), field goals made (11) and tied in blocks (two). 

Asta Blauenfeldt (15) and Irena Korolenko (12) also finished in double digits, combining for 11 rebounds and four assists. 

The Redhawks marked season-highs in field goals made (32), blocks (seven) and posted their second highest scoring game of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Redhawks started the game off quickly, using a 12-2 run midway the opening quarter to take a nine point lead after 10 minutes.

Seattle U took a narrow, four point lead into the halftime break before the Vaqueros opened the third with some strong shooting from three point distance.

An Aannah Interrante jumper in the paint tied the contest at 66 midway through the fourth but UTRGV would score the following 10 points to take this one.
