Seattle U Takes Fourth at WAC Championship

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Seattle U men's golf concluded play on the 2022-23 season on Sunday afternoon, taking fourth place out of 13 teams at the 2023 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship. Graduate student Jack Rahon wrapped up his career as a Redhawk with his fifth career top-five finish, grabbing fifth overall with a three-round total of 207 (72-67-68). All three rounds took place at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, on the 7,482 yards course with a par of 72.

Graduate student Jack Rahon wrapped up his career as a Redhawk with his fifth career top-five finish, grabbing fifth overall with a three-round total of 207 (72-67-68). All three rounds took place at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, on the 7,482 yards course with a par of 72. 

Seattle U finished the tournament at an impressive 22-under 842 after a seven-under par 281 round on Sunday. The Redhawks were the second best team on the par threes at an average of 3.00 and scoring even, while also ranking fourth in the field in made pars with 166 and made birdies with 58.

Rahon ended the three-day event tied for third in made birdies (16), tied for sixth on the par fours in average (3.97) and scoring (one-under) and tied for seventh on the par fives in average (4.25) and scoring (nine-under). 

Senior John Morrow grabs his best finish at Seattle U, tying for ninth at seven-under 209 (69-69-71). Morrow concluded the event tied for third on the par fours in average (3.93) and scoring (two-under), tied for fourth on par threes in average (2.92) and scoring (two-under) and tied for sixth in made pars (37). Morrow was one of four Redhawks to make over 11 birdies with 12.

Freshman Ben Ragland claimed his best career three-round total at 213 (72-70-71), while graduate student Nathan Cogswell (70-76-71) ranked second on the team in birdies with 13 and sophomore Liam Gill (83-72-73) tied for 11th in made pars with 35.
