SEATTLE - Seattle U women's basketball (1-9, 1-1 WAC) took part in its final home contest of the 2023 calender year, falling just short to UTSA, 64-75, despite outscoring the Roadrunners, 22-10, in the final quarter. Julianna Walker provided a strong present at the point this afternoon, leading the Redhawks in scoring with a season-high 17 points that included four made three-pointers. The nonconference contest took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle.
Mya Moore continued her strong play in the front court, recording 14 points and grabbing eight rebounds. The Milwaukee, Wisc., product tied career-bests with a game-high four steals and three blocks.
Makayla Moore marked the third Redhawk in double figure scoring, ending the contest with 12 points to go along with three rebounds. Peyton Howard stuffed the stat sheet, setting a new career-best with nine assists and tying her career-high in rebounds with eight. The Spokane, Wash., native also recorded six points, two steals and a block.

The Redhawks put their foot on the gas pedal in the fourth, opening with the first 10 points of the period, capped off by back-to-back Julianna Walker three-pointers. The Redhawks pulled as close as nine points after using a 11-0 run that concluded with this Makayla Moore layup on a quick pass from Peyton Howard.
Seattle U marked stellar stats in the fourth quarter, shooting 8-for-10 from the field and 40for-5 from three point range.
