SEATTLE – Seattle U women's basketball got off to a hot start Tuesday night in the Redhawk Center, but came up on the short end of a game of runs, dropping a 68-43 decision to Cal Poly.

SEATTLE – Seattle U women's basketball got off to a hot start Tuesday night in the Redhawk Center, but came up on the short end of a game of runs, dropping a 68-43 decision to Cal Poly.

The Redhawks used a 12-2 run to close out the first quarter of action and hold a 16-9 lead over the Mustangs. But Cal Poly would find the advantage in each of the remaining three quarters.

Mya Moore had 10 points and six rebounds for Seattle U (0-5) while Irena Korolenko had nine points and Aannah Interrante added eight off the bench.

Cal Poly (2-4) was paced by Annika Shah's 22 points, including a 6-14 performance from beyond the arc.

The Redhawks managed just 27% shooting from the field and committed 20 turnovers while Cal Poly shot 45% and won the battle in the paint, 38-18.

Seattle U returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 25, traveling to face Portland State. Tip off from Portland is set for 2 p.m.
