SEATTLE - Seattle University women's basketball fought hard with Washington down the stretch, but it was the crosstown rivals who came away with the victory, 80-64 Saturday afternoon on Montlake.

The Redhawks (0-4) came out strong to start the game, racing out to a 5-point lead just under five minutes in. A 6-0 Husky run at the end of the half put them up 11, but an Irena Korolenko three at the buzzer made it an 8-point deficit at half. SU would hang in with UW, but they would get no closer than eight, falling in the battle for Seattle.

Peyton Howard dropped a season high 18 on the day, pacing the Redhawks and tying the game high. She also added three rebounds and a pair of steals.

Mya Moore (17 PTS, 7-11 FG) and Korolenko (13 PTS, 5-18 FG) also reached double-digits for SU offensively. Korolenko fell just two rebounds short of her second double-double of the season, and Moore was just a point away from tying her career high.
