SEATTLE - Seattle U volleyball (8-19, 3-13 WAC) concluded its 2023 season on Saturday night, taking down Southern Utah in a three set sweep. Arianna Bilby notched her 1,000 career kill in her 16 kill evening to propel the Redhawks over the Thunderbirds. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) contest took place at the Redhawk Center on the campus of Seattle U in Seattle.
Seattle U honored seniors Anastasia Galanou and Kylie Waters pregame.

MATCH NOTES
Seattle U opened the match on fire, claiming 10 of the first 13 points. Seattle U went on to take the opening set by a 25-16 margin with Seattle U marking eight total blocks in the set.
The Redhawks continued that strong play in set two, taking the first six points. Southern Utah battled back to a one point margin (11-10) before Seattle U took five straight points capped off by a Bilby kill.
A back-and-forth third set came down to the wire, with Seattle U taking six of the last seven points to claim the sweep.
Seattle U out performed Southern Utah in every stat, recording more points (60-43), kills (42-36), aces (6-2), blocks (12-5), assists (41-34) and digs (42-34)
The Redhawks recorded more kills than Southern Utah in each set (12-11, 14-12, 16-13).
The Redhawks marked their third highest total block performance on the season (12.0) with Tatum Chase (six total blocks) leading the way, while Marley Hardgrave had five.
Bilby hit a stellar .382 (16-for-34, 3 errors) on the night to go along with five digs and two total blocks.
Merima Smajlovic had a strong all-around match, chipping in eight digs, six kills, three service aces, one total block and one assist.
Anastasia Galanou hit a phenomenal .556 (six-for-nine, one error) to go along with three total blocks and 7.5 points scored, marking all as season-highs.
Teksoy ends the season with another strong match at setter, assisting on 34 points to go along with six digs and four total blocks.
Kaltyn Sipes led the squad in digs (11), while Erin Goya (10) also finished in double figure digs.
