PHOENIX - Seattle U men's soccer ran their unbeaten streak to five, tying on the road with Grand Canyon, 1-1, Thursday night. The Redhawks scored early but couldn't find the back of the net again as they split the point with the Lopes.

PHOENIX - Seattle U men's soccer ran their unbeaten streak to five, tying on the road with Grand Canyon, 1-1, Thursday night. The Redhawks scored early but couldn't find the back of the net again as they split the point with the Lopes.

Richy Lapointe-Guevara scored his second goal of the season just three minutes into the match, cleaning up a loose ball in the box. The Lopes would respond close to 30 minutes later to send the two sides to into the break deadlocked. 

With the match winding down, Seattle U put on a late flurry to try and snag the win. The Redhawks put up six shots in the final eight minutes but just couldn't find the back of the net. The Lopes would also get a late rush in, as keeper Charlie Lanphier was called into action to make a game winning save in the final seconds, as the point was split between conference foes.

Match Timeline: The tie moves the Redhawks to 7-2-3 on the season and to 2-0-1 in conference play. They still sit atop the WAC standings, 1-point above Utah Tech. 

Seattle U will have a week off before they head to Edinburg, Texas for a matchup with UTRGV. Kickoff between the Redhawks and Vaqueros is set for 4:30pm PT.
