TACOMA, Wash. – Seattle U women's golf capped off the ninth annual Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, tying for fifth overall out of 22 teams. Shayna Lu posted another career-best performance in the final round, finishing with a four-under 68 to tie for third place overall at two-under 214. The event took place at Tacoma Country & Golf Club in Tacoma, Washington, on the 6,037 yards course with a par of 72.
"We are so thankful for the Tacoma Country & Golf Club and all its members for providing us with the opportunity to host such a great event at a prestigious venue," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "We are so fortunate for their staff and support in making it easy on us to deliver such a fantastic event. Our heart goes out to the Harbottle family and we are thinking about them during this time. We are happy with our performance and overall finish especially for the fact we were missing one of our top golfers. We are very excited to do it all again next fall."
The Redhawks finished second overall in the field for made birdies (38) and fourth overall on the par fours (4.16). Seattle U shot the second best round on Tuesday, finishing with a four-under 284.
Lu claims the top-three finish thanks to finishing tied for second in made birdies with 12 and tied for fifth on the par fives at three-under and an average of 4.75.
Tsara Ralamboarison (74-73-73) claimed a top-20 finish at the third straight event, while Aaryanna Morris (78-77-69) and Annika Cruz (77-77-74) played some of their best golf in the final round. Azumi Arai rounds out the team score at with a three-round total of 229 (73-78-78).
Competing as an individual were Maria Fedorowycz (78-81-73), Samantha Yates (79-81-78) and Konomi Matsubara (86-84-82).
Seattle U concludes the 2023 fall campaign in Nevada, heading to The Clash at Boulder Creek, hosted by NAU, from October 22-24.
