ARLINGTON, TX - Habib Famuditimi of men's soccer has been named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending on Sep. 30.
"Happy for Habib," said head coach Nate Daligcon. He prepared well this summer and was focused and ready to compete coming into the season. He has helped solidify our backline and it was great for him to get his first goal this past weekend."
The senior defender from Toronto helped lead the 23rd ranked Redhawks to two wins last week, including a 2-0 shutout victory over Air Force on Sunday. Famuditimi was not only a defensive standout at right back, but also got involved in the attack and scored his first colligate goal in the 5-2 win over Utah Valley last Thursday.
It is the first Player of the Week nomination for Famuditimi and the 4th weekly award given to the Redhawks this season.
