SEATTLE — Seattle University rowing has named Clara Froeschner as assistant coach, Head Coach Jenny Park announced Tuesday.
"I am thrilled to welcome Clara to the team," said Park. "She brings expertise and enthusiasm for the sport as well as a genuine passion for working with our young women. We are looking forward to a great year."
Froeschner comes to Seattle U following one season as an assistant coach at Pacific Lutheran University. In her position with the Lutes, Froeschner ran day-to-day practices, coordinated training and competition travel and was responsible for the novice rowers.
"I am extremely excited for the opportunity to join the Seattle U community and help lift our student athletes to a new level," said Froeschner.
Prior to her time at PLU, Froeschner was a juniors rowing coach with Commencement Bay Rowing Club in Tacoma, Wash.
Froeschner earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from PLU in 2022. She was a member of the Lutes' varsity eight boat that won the Lamberth Cup, won the NWC title, and won the petite final at the NCAA Championships to place seventh in the nation. She was named First Team All-NWC, a CRCA Scholar-Athlete and NWC All-Academic honors.
Prior to 2021-2022, Froeschner attended Drake University in Iowa, earning All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honors in 2021 and 2019.
