PALO ALTO, CA-- Seattle U's women's tennis team finished up play at the ITA Northwest Regionals in Palo Alto, CA, hosted by Stanford University this Sunday, October 15th.

Day 1 (October 13th):

In singles play, Elena Kraleva was the only Redhawk to win her match in the main draw round of 128 with a victory over Gonzaga's Lia Espinal (4:6, 6:3, 6:0). Liliya Dimova fell to Portland's Iva Zelic (2:6, 2:6), while Shuanghui Huang was defeated by Portland state's Capucine Sanoner (0:6, 1:6). Seattle U also lost two matches to players from Stanford, with Anastasia Aleksandra Nikolova being defeated by Aleksandra Yepifanova (4:6, 2:6) and Yuna Kadowaki falling to India Houghton (0:6, 1:6). Elena Kraleva then moved on to the round of 64, where she was defeated by Stanford's Eleana Yu (6:2, 2:6, 0:6).

In the main draw round of 64 in doubles play, Liliya Dimova and Anastasia Aleksandra Nikolova fell to Fresno State's Carolina Piferi and Misaki Kobayashi (5:8), while Elena Kraleva and Yuna Kadowaki had a close match with Stanford's Eleana Yu and Emma Sun, but ultimately lost the match with a score of 7:8. 

Day 2 (October 14th):
In the singles consolation round of 64, Liliya Dimova defeated Cal Poly's Eliza Bates (6:3, 7:6), Yuna Kadowaki defeated Santa Clara's Olivia Wiese (6:4, 6:4), and Anastasia Nikolova was victorious against Saint Mary's Dong TianYu (7:5, 6:4). Shuanghui Huang fell to Gabriela Tevez of Santa Clara with scores of 0:6 and 2:6.

In the doubles consolation, Liliya Dimova and Anastasia Aleksandra Nikolova were victorious against Pacific's Elizaveta Mlandentseva and Megan Carmichael (7:6), while Elena Kraleva and Yuna Kadowaki fell to UC Davis' Kaia Wolfe and Mika Ikemori (3:6).

Day 3 (October 15th): 

In singles play, Liliya Dimova defeated Pacific's Zara Fung (8:6), Anastasia Aleksandra Nikolova fell to Stanford's Elena Yu (0:6, 1:6), Yuna Kadowaki was defeated by Fresno State's Carolina Piferi (1:6, 2:6), and Shuanghui Huang fell to UC Davis' Kaia Wolfe (0:6, 0:6).

For their next competition, the team will be traveling to Spokane to compete in the Gonzaga Fall Tournament from October 27th to October 29th.
