OREM, Utah - Seattle U women's soccer ran their unbeaten streak to five, earning a hard fought draw with Utah Valley, 0-0, Saturday night in Utah.

"Playing the top team in the conference on the road and getting a point is not something to be upset about," said head coach Julie Woodward. "I feel like a broken record, repeating myself every game, but the determination and resiliency of this team is incredible."

The Redhawks defensively stood out in the match, holding one of the best attacks in the conference to no goals. Of the six Wolverine shots that did make it on frame, none of them got by keeper Kassidy Kirgan's gloves as she added another clean sheet to her impressive freshman campaign.

Jourdyn Curran, Kate Connelly, Kailee Wilson, Kait Raffensperger, and Lacey LaBoda joined Kirgan in playing the full 90 minutes on the night. Utah Valley had been averaging just over four goals a game in conference play, and Seattle U held them to no goals while shutting out the preseason WAC favorite for only the third time this season.

"Our backline continues to be so steady not giving up many chances. Woodward added. "I would have to give a special shout out to our defensive midfielders, especially Jourdyn for the amazing defensive game she played today. The shot count may have gone to UVU, but the quality chances were definitely in our favor. We take this as a positive, moving forward and look forward to being on our home field next weekend to close the regular season out while celebrating our senior class."

The Redhawks now fly home and prepare to close out the regular season with a pair of matches at Championship Field, starting with a show down with Southern Utah on Thursday, Oct. 18. That will be followed by senior day on the following Sunday vs Utah Tech.
