SEATTLE - No. 20 Seattle U men's soccer kept their winning ways going, knocking off California Baptist, 3-0, Sunday afternoon at Championship Field. James Morris scored two and the defense secured another shutout as the Redhawks moved their unbeaten streak to seven.
After a scoreless opening 45, the Redhawks were able to find the back of the net three times in the second half. Morris would score the opener in the 58', before securing the brace in the 87'. Those were goals number nine and 10 on the season for the forward, who now sits alone atop the conference in the category.
Sandwiched between the Morris brace was a goal from Taketo Onodera in the 68'. Onodera headed home his second goal of the season off the cross from Nico Wiskel, with Morris also assisting on the play.
In goal, Charlie Lanphier was able to pick up his fifth clean sheet of the season as he and the defense only had to absorb five shots from the Lancers.

With the win the Redhawks now improve to 9-2-3 overall on the season and to 4-0-1 in conference play. They now also sit 3-points clear atop the WAC standings, with a game in hand over the 2nd place San Jose State Spartans.
Seattle U will see those same Spartans in their next match, coming on Saturday, Oct. 21, at Championship Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm PT as the Redhawks celebrate senior day.
