EDINBURG, TX - No. 20 Seattle U men's soccer kept their unbeaten streak going, beating UTRGV, 1-0, Thursday night in Texas. James Morris scored his conference leading 8th goal of the season and, the defense secured another shutout in the win over the Vaqueros.

EDINBURG, TX - No. 20 Seattle U men's soccer kept their unbeaten streak going, beating UTRGV, 1-0, Thursday night in Texas. James Morris scored his conference leading 8th goal of the season and, the defense secured another shutout in the win over the Vaqueros. 

Morris scored was the lone scorer on the night, getting his head to a Yeider Zuluaga pass in the 35' that proved to be the difference on the night. Despite only scoring one goal, the Redhawks did outshoot the Vaqueros 16-8 including a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal. 

Seattle U continued their stellar defensive form, as the backline and Charlie Lanphier combined to complete their 4th shutout of the season. Lanphier made four saves as he secured his conference leading 4th clean sheet.

The Redhawks now move to 8-2-3 on the season and to 3-0-1 in conference. Seattle U currently sits alone atop the WAC standings with 10 points. They also extend their unbeaten streak to six, going 4-0-2 in that span. 

Next up is a return to Championship Field this Sunday, Oct. 15, as SU hosts California Baptist. Kickoff between the Redhawks and Lancers is scheduled for 2pm PT.
