SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle U men's soccer took down their northwest rivals Oregon State, 2-1, Thursday night at Championship Field. Taketo Onodera's goal in the 70th minute proved to be the decider as the Redhawks got their first win over the Beavers since 2015.

"Very good team win tonight," said head coach Nate Daligcon. "The players stayed focused after going down a goal and were able to come back and get two goals in the second half."

The Redhawks trailed heading into the halftime break but were able to level the match on a Yeider Zuluaga goal in the 48th.

After a build up from the Redhawks again, a turnover by the Beavers in their own half sprung a counter attack for SU. Onodera would thread a through ball to James Morris who promptly crossed the ball back to the top of the box for Onodera to square up and send to the back of the net.

It was the first goal of the season for both Zuluaga and Onodera. For Morris, who also assisted on the first goal, it was tallies two and three on the year. He now leads the Western Athletic Conference and team in both goals scored and assists this season.
