SEATTLE – Seattle U volleyball has announced the addition of Felipe Nogueira, Head Coach Michelle Cole released on Friday.

"My wife and I are very excited and grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Seattle University community," said Nogueira. "Coach Cole has done a great job of making the transitions very smooth for me. I am thrilled to learn from her, the team and the coaching staff. I am eager to begin our preseason training and compete in one of the tough conferences at the DI level. I am most looking forward to building meaningful relationships."

Nogueira spent the past two seasons as the head coach of the Grand View men's volleyball program, receiving the AVCA Thirty Under Thirty award and guiding the Vikings to a 2022 NAIA National Championship and an overall record of 47-11. Nogueira began his coaching career on the Grand View staff, serving as an assistant coach from 2017-2019. In between his stints at Grand View, Nogueira spent the 2020 season as an assistant coach for the women's program of the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, helping them to an appearance at the AVCA National Championship with an overall record of 11-3.

Nogueira is a Grand View Alum (2013-2017), primarily playing as an outside hitter. He excelled both on the court and in the classroom, receiving All-Conference Team honors in both 2015 and 2017 as well as grabbing three academic All-Conference honors. Nogueira graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in the Spring of 2017 before going on to get his Master's Degree in Sports management in the Spring of 2020.

"Felipe comes to us with heaps of curiosity, a desire to learn and a history of success," said Cole. "Winning a National Championship is a rare and formidable feat that demonstrates he understands the strategy it takes to win. More importantly, he knows how to help craft a winning culture. This team is excited to learn from him, while Mo and I are looking forward to finally getting to work with him."
