SEATTLE — Seattle University volleyball and fourth-year head coach Michelle Cole announced the 2023 season schedule on Thursday.

The Redhawks' slate is comprised of 27 regular season matches, featuring eight Western Athletic Conference (WAC) dates at the Redhawk Center, and boasts seven teams ranked among last season's NCAA RPI Top 150.

"Our team is excited to tackle what is going to be a challenging series of matches," said Cole. "This schedule features a rugged preseason, tough travel days and the always thrilling WAC brawls. We've worked hard during the offseason, and are determined to fight for each and every match."

The Redhawks start the 2023 campaign with 13 matches at neutral or road venues, kicking off the season against Idaho (8/25), North Dakota State (8/26) and UC Riverside (8/26) at the Idaho VB Classic in Moscow, Idaho. They'll make the cross-state trip the following weekend, taking part in the EWU Tournament against Eastern Washington (9/1), Pacific (9/1) and Nevada (9/2) in Cheney, Wash. A two match trip to Bozeman, Mont., for matchups with Montana State on Sept. 7 & 8 follows before non-conference play concludes with contests against Middle Tennessee (9/15), George Mason (9/16) and Albany (9/16) in Fairfax, Va.

Seattle U begins the 2023 WAC season with a two game trip to Texas, facing off with Abilene Christian (9/21) and Tarleton (9/23). The Redhawks open their home schedule against UT Arlington on Sept. 28, before welcoming the 2022 WAC Tournament Champions, Stephen F. Austin, on Sept. 30. A three game home stand concludes with the 2022 WAC Regular Season Champions, UTRGV, on Oct. 5.

Three contests over six days takes the Redhawks to Utah for matchups with Utah Valley (10/9), Southern Utah (10/12) and Utah Tech (10/14). Seattle U returns home shortly for a matchup with California Baptist on Oct. 18, before returning to the road for a single contest against Grand Canyon in Phoenix on Oct. 21. Tarleton (10/26) and Abilene Christian (10/28) make the trip to the Pacific Northwest to conclude matches in October, while Stephen F. Austin (11/2) and UT Arlington (11/4) are the final two WAC road matches of the season.

The Redhawks will wrap up the WAC schedule with two at home, opening with Utah Tech on Nov. 9 and concluding with Southern Utah on Nov. 11.

The 2023 WAC Championships are slated for Nov. 16-18 at Lockhart Arena in Orem, Utah.
