INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Samantha Bruce of Seattle U golf has been named SU's 2022-23 NCAA Woman of the Year nomine. Bruce wrapped up a decerated 4-year career at Seattle U this season.
Established in 1991, the NCAA Woman of the Year award recognizes graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers.
The 2022-23 Seattle U Athlete of the Year, Bruce ended her colligate career by racking up the awards. She was the first Redhawk to earn All-WAC First Team in back-to-back years. Bruce logged SU's single-season best stroke average (73.27), counting score (32 times/97%), made birdies (100), and par five scoring (4.7435).
She was three time Academic All-WAC, two time WGCA All-American Scholar, and was named academic all-district during the 2022-23 season. Bruce also collaborated with the Mockingbird Society, a non-profit organization, to help develop an app that revolutionized audience interaction.
