SEATTLE - Seattle U volleyball has added Anastasia Galanou as a graduate transfer to its 2023 class, Head Coach Michelle Cole announced on Thursday.
"Anastasia is a great addition to our roster," said Cole. "She fits seamlessly into our culture as she instantly started to bond with our team. She adds a heavy arm that should add emphasis to our offense. Coach Downey is going to love having another sizable block to use in our defensive plans."
Galanou joins Seattle U after four seasons at Villanova University, where she was a member of the 2019 team that went 22-9 and made an appearance in the Big East Tournament Semi-Finals. The outside hitter marked one of her best performances as a Wildcat last season against Butler, recording a career-high six kills. The native of Athens, Greece, played club volleyball for ASPE Thetis Voulas from 2012-19 and featured on the U19 Greek National Team. Galanou plans on earning her MBA while at Seattle U.
