BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Seattle U men's golf's graduate student Jack Rahon and senior John Morrow rank inside the top-10 after two rounds at the 2023 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship. Morrow moves up three spots into a tie for fourth with another three-under 69 performance in the second round, while Rahon climbs 13 spots into a tie for eighth place with a five-under 67 performance. Second round action took place at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, on the 7,482 yards course with a par of 72.
The Redhawks improved five strokes from the opening round, shooting a 10-under 278 to put them at 15-under 561 after two rounds for fourth place overall. Seattle U ranks tied for third on the par threes with an average of 3.05 and scoring of two-over, while they are just three birdies back of the first place team in overall made birdies.
Morrow (69-69) ranks third in the field of 61 golfers on the par fours, shooting an average of 3.90 and overall scoring of two-under. Rahon (72-67) is tied for fourth in made birdies with 11 and has played some of his best golf on the par fives, shooting an average of 4.25 and scoring at six-under.
Freshman Ben Ragland (72-70) improved upon his opening score by two strokes with his two-under 70 performance today, while graduate student Nathan Cogswell (70-76) is currently four strokes behind him overall and sophomore Liam Gill (73-72) rounds out the team score for today with an even 72.
The third and final round of the WAC Championship will tee off on Sunday at 7 a.m. with the first Redhawk getting underway at 9:10 a.m.
