Seattle U Wraps Up Final Regular Season Tournament

EL MACERO, Calif. - Seattle U men's golf concluded regular season tournament action on Sunday afternoon, tying for 13th place at the El Macero Classic. The three-day, 54-hole event took place at El Macero Country Club in El Macero, California, on the 7,127 yards course with a par of 72.

EL MACERO, Calif. - Seattle U men's golf concluded regular season tournament action on Sunday afternoon, tying for 13th place at the El Macero Classic. The three-day, 54-hole event took place at El Macero Country Club in El Macero, California, on the 7,127 yards course with a par of 72. 

Seattle U tied for third overall in made pars (169) and finished fourth in the field on the par threes, shooting an average of 3.20 with a score of 12-over. 

Sophomore Liam Gill was the team's top finisher, shooting a one-over 217 (72-73-72). Gill played some of his best golf on the par threes, tying for second in scoring (one-under) and average (2.92). The native of Wayland, Mass., tied for second in made pars in a field of 100 golfers with 39.

Graduate student Jack Rahon (73-75-71) shot the team's best single round with a one-under 71 on the final day, while senior John Morrow (73-72-76) made two eagles over the three days and freshman Ben Ragland (78-74-73) improved with each round. Junior Blake Kukula (77-78-73) tied for fourth overall in made pars, finishing with just one less than Gill. 

The Redhawks will begin postseason play on April 28 with the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship at Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder City, Nevada.
