MILLBRAE, Calif. - Seattle U women's golf concluded regular season tournament play on Tuesday afternoon, taking eighth place at the Silicon Valley Showcase. The two-day, 54-hole event took place at Green Hills Country Club on the 6,061 yards course with a par of 71.
Graduate student Samantha Bruce (73-80-79) finished tied for fifth in par five average (4.89) and scoring (one-under) as well as ranking fourth in the field of 54 golfers with nine made birdies. Freshman Aaryanna Morris (82-78-78) ranked second on the team in made pars, while sophomore Rivekka Jumagulova (81-80-78) improved after each round and fellow sophomore Shayna Lu (74-84-83) finished just two strokes behind Jumagulova. Senior Azumi Arai rounds out the team score with a three-round total of 242 (75-85-82).
Sophomore Annika Cruz also made an appearance in this tournaments as an individual, leading all Redhawk participants in overall made pars with 36.
The Redhawks will begin postseason play on April 23 with the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship at Semiahmoo Golf & Country Club in Blaine, Wash.
