UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Seattle U men's golf hosts the ninth annual Seattle U Redhawk Invitational, starting on Monday in University Place, Wash. The two-day, 54 hole event is scheduled to be played on Apr. 3-4 at Chambers Bay Golf Course on the 6,989 yards course with a par of 71. Both days will feature shotgun starts, teeing off at 8 a.m.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Seattle U men's golf hosts the ninth annual Seattle U Redhawk Invitational, starting on Monday in University Place, Wash. The two-day, 54 hole event is scheduled to be played on Apr. 3-4 at Chambers Bay Golf Course on the 6,989 yards course with a par of 71. Both days will feature shotgun starts, teeing off at 8 a.m.

The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Army, Boise State, CSUN, Cal State Fullerton, George Mason, George Washington, Gonzaga, Idaho, Michigan State, Nevada, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Oregon State, Sacramento State, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, UC Irvine, UC San Diego and Washington.

Seattle U's lineup will consist of graduate students Nathan Cogswell and Jack Rahon, junior Blake Kukula, sophomore Liam Gill and freshman Ben Ragland. Senior John Morrow and freshman Jakob Balkovec and Burly Hildreth will be competing as individuals. 

The tournament has featured five different team champions in its history with San Francisco, UCLA and Washington each taking the title twice. Boise State won the shortened tournament in 2022 with a one round total of three-over 287. 

The tournament's 54-hole all-time low score was set in 2019 when UCLA shot 37-under par, while UCLA's Hidetoshi Yoshihara set the individual 54-hole all-time low that same year at 13-under par.

Seattle U enters this tournament after a second place finish at the UC San Diego Invitational last week. As a team, the Redhawks set records for lowest total through 36 holes (557, 19-under) and lowest total through 54 holes (834, 30-under).

Graduate student Nathan Cogswell was named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Golfer of the Week this past Tuesday. Cogswell logged his his highest finish of the year, taking second place in a field of 83 golfers. The native of Kent, Washington, set a new Seattle U record for lowest total over 54 holes at 14-under 202 (68-68-66). Cogswell had previously set the record back during the 2019-20 season with a 10-under par 203 54 hole total at the Nick Watney Invitational in Fresno, California.
