Track and Field Prepares for Stanford Invitational, Mike Faneli Track Classic

STANFORD, Calif. - Seattle U track and field return back to action as they travel south to compete at the Stanford Invitational, hosted by Stanford, and Mike Faneli Track Classic, hosted by San Fransisco State. Both meets will begin on March 31 with the first Redhawk athlete competing at the Stanford Invite at 11:00 AM PST, and the first SU athlete competing at the Mike Faneli Track Classic at 10:25 AM PST.

STANFORD, Calif. - Seattle U track and field return back to action as they travel south to compete at the Stanford Invitational, hosted by Stanford, and Mike Faneli Track Classic, hosted by San Fransisco State. Both meets will begin on March 31 with the first Redhawk athlete competing at the Stanford Invite at 11:00 AM PST, and the first SU athlete competing at the Mike Faneli Track Classic at 10:25 AM PST.

Both meets will pick up the next day, as the Redhawks continue competition at 1:00 PM PST at the Stanford Invite, and 11:46 AM PST for the Mike Faneli Track Classic. 

The Redhawks are returning after a solid season opener at the Oregon Preview, which included Gus Harquail winning the 2000m Steeplechase in a time of 5:44.84. Additionally, Azalea Groleau had a great showing in the 3000m, as she finished in a time of 9:59.96 to record the second fastest 3000m time in SU history.

Other huge performances from the team included:
  • Isaiah Payne finishing second in the 200m and fifth in the 100m, clocking in times of 21.62 and 10.78, respectively.
  • Amadeus Eckart starting his outdoor season with a PR in the long jump, recording a mark of 6.21m to improve on his standing as eighth on the SU top-ten list.
  • Livii Fetterley throwing a mark of 9.94 in the shotput to rank her ninth in school history in the event
