SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – Seattle U men's golf heads to its final tournament before the Redhawk Invitational on Monday, traveling to San Diego, California, for the UC San Diego Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole event is scheduled to take place at Torrey Pines Golf Course on the 7,258 yards course with a par of 72.
The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Bucknell, California Baptist, CSUN, Florida A&M, Hawai'i, Lehigh, Oklahoma Christian, Southern Utah, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, Utah State, Utah Tech and the hosts, UC San Diego. Seattle U's team lineup will consist of graduate students Nathan Cogswell and Jack Rahon, junior Blake Kukula, sophomore Liam Gill and freshman Ben Ragland.
This will be Seattle U's first time competing in the UC San Diego Invitational which is in its third year of existence and first at Torrey Pines.
The Redhawks enter the UC San Diego Invitational after taking seventh at the Bandon Dunes Championships on March 14. Sophomore Liam Gill was SU's top overall finisher, tying for 12th overall with a two-round total of 146 (76-70). This marked Gill's second finish inside the top-15 this season. The Wayland, Mass., native recorded his career-best finish at the Nick Watney Invitational back in September, tying for ninth overall at four-under 209 with his final round also being his career-low round of three-under 68.
