SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle U women's tennis took on Washington in a dual match at the Nordstrom Tennis Center, located on the University of Washington's campus. The Huskies got off to a hot start in doubles and kept it going into singles, as the Redhawks would be defeated by the Huskies 0-7.
In singles play, Elena Kraleva put up a competitive effort against Hikaru Sato, but would drop the match 2-6, 4-6. Liliya Dimova (0-6, 1-6) was matched up against Sarah Maude-Fortin, while Lola Tavcar (0-6, 1-6) would face off against Astrid Olsen.
Mireia Fehr (1-6, 1-6) would square off against Jennifer Kerr, while Jade Quintana (1-6, 0-6) would battle against Melissa Sakar. Rounding out singles play was Shuangui Huang as she would take on Erika Matsuda. After a competitive second set, Huang would drop the match 0-6, 3-6.
In doubles play, Mireia Fehr and Lola Tavcar would face off against Astrid Olsen and Jennifer Kerr, but would be defeated 0-6. Jade Quintana and Shuangui Huang would play Sarah Maude-Fortin and Erika Matsuda, but would also lose 0-6. The match of Elena Kraleva and Liliya Dimova versus Kikaru Sato and Zehra Suko woulg not be finished as the Huskies had already clinched the doubles point.
The Redhawks will look to bounce back in their match against the Grand Canyon Lopes on March 17 in Phoenix, Arizona.
