Swim Begins Postseason at WAC Championships

MCALLEN, Texas. - Seattle U men's and women's swim will begin their postseason endeavors at the WAC Championships, hosted by UTRGV in McAllen, Texas. The meet will take place at the City of Pharr Natatorium from February 22-25, and a live stream of the meet will be provided HERE.

MCALLEN, Texas. - Seattle U men's and women's swim will begin their postseason endeavors at the WAC Championships, hosted by UTRGV in McAllen, Texas. The meet will take place at the City of Pharr Natatorium from February 22-25, and a live stream of the meet will be provided HERE.

The Redhawks are ready to take on the post season after a month long hiatus from competition. The regular season has been full of new top-ten times in school history, as well as multiple school records.

For the men, Nicholas Imig set the school record in the 100 Free, clocking in a time of 44.36 seconds. Additionally, Imig also tied the second all time mark in the 50 Free (20.12 seconds) and set the ninth fastest time in the 100 Breast (56.44) this season. 

Cole Lanting also put himself on the top-10 list twice for individual events. The sophomore clocked in a time of 1:49.21 in the 200 IM, which was good for second in school history. Lanting also set a seasons best of 1:39.82 in the 200 Free, which places him fifth on the all-time top-ten list.

For the women, true freshman Sarah Cook led the way for the team. In her first collegiate season, Cook placed herself in the top-ten in five different individual events. Cook is second in the 200 IM (2:04.29), fourth in the 100 Breast (1:03.72), fourth in the 100 Fly (56.27), fifth in the 200 Breast (2:18.65) and tied for tenth in the 200 Fly (2:08.58).

Maggie Robben has also had a stellar regular season, as she is in the top-ten for three individual events this season. Robben is fourth in the 200 IM (2:05.11), fifth in the 200 Free (1:52.44), and ninth in the 100 Breast (1:06.19).
