SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle U track and field closed out the regular indoor season at the Husky Classic, hosted by the University of Washington, at the Dempsey Indoor Center. The Redhawks continued their streak of setting new school records and top-10 marks, led by Miguel Rosario III setting another school record in the 60m Dash, and Bryana Rogers improving her second all-time mark in the triple jump.
True freshman Miguel Rosario III continued to shine in the 200m and 60m Dash this weekend. In the 200m, Rosario clocked in a time of 21.92 seconds to place second in the meet. The mark improves on Rosario's third place in the school record books.
In the 60m Dash, Rosario continued the momentum to set another personal best and improving his school record, finishing the race in 6.80 seconds.
Noah Payne and Kavon Holden also had solid performances in the 60m Dash to improve their standings in the top-10 list. Payne clocked in a time of 6.98 to improve his fifth all-time mark, and Holden finshed the race in 7.00 to claim sole possession of the sixth fastest 60m Dash in school history.
Bryana Rogers had a great performance in the triple jump. Rogers jumped a mark of 11.74m to place third overall in the meet. The mark by Rogers improves her place as second in school history, and is .22m away from the school record.
Zoe Tibbo continued to impress in the long jump in her freshman season. Tibbo jumped 5.11m in the long jump to place ninth overall in the meet, and moving her up to sixth all-time in school history.
The duo of Gus Harquail and Alex Franklin continue to set top-10 marks together as they had great performances in the mile. Harquail clocked in a time of 4:12.29, while Franklin finished the race in 4:13.26. Harquail improves his third all-time mark in school history, while Franklin improved on his fourth all-time mark.
The Redhawks finished the meet with the 4x400m relays, with three relay teams cracking the top-10 list. In the women's 4x400m relay, the team of Taylor Marks, Julie Smith, Grace Much, and Azalea Groleau did just enough to make the top-10 list, clocking in a time of 4:02.94 for the tenth fastest time in school history.
The men had two teams make the top ten list. The team of Carl Christopherson, Alex Jensen, Gus Harquail, and Hezekiah Goodwin finished the race in 3:26.53 to take the eighth fastest time in school history. Also, the team of Sebbie Law, Matthew Holme, Miguel Rosario III, and Justin Blunden clocked in a time of 3:22.41 to tie the second fastest mark in school history.
The Redhawks will start their indoor post season endeavors, as they will compete in the WAC Championships in Spokane, Washington on February 24-25.
