SWEEPING UTAH
Seattle U swept their most recent trip to Utah, claiming victories over Utah Valley and Utah Tech. After falling behind 20-5 after one quarter in Orem, the Redhawks mounted their largest comeback of the season against the Wolverines to take the victory, 66-58. They outscored UVU, 61-38, over the course of the last three quarters, lead by a phenomenal three-point shooting night from sophomore Taliyah Clark

The Redhawks victory over Utah Tech was much different, jumping out to an early lead and holding it for 30 minutes of play. After a back-and-forth first quarter, Seattle U took control of the game during the second, outscoring Utah Tech, 19-12. SU's defense allowed them to take the lead, forcing three turnovers and limiting UT to 5-of-16 from the field and 2-for-9 from three. Junior Irena Korolenko had a stellar all-around game, logging 12 points, seven rebounds and seven assists as SU finished with four double-digit scorers.

CLARK FROM DOWNTOWN
Sophomore Taliyah Clark was fantastic for the Redhawks last weekend, leading the team in scoring in both their victories over Utah Valley and Utah Tech. The 5-11 guard was on fire from three-point range against the Wolverines, finishing the evening 7-for-8 from distance to tie Seattle U's DI record for made threes in a single game. Clark would finish the night with 25 points and nine rebounds, both of which are new career-highs.

The native of Lynnwood, Wash., didn't slow down against Utah Tech, knocking down another four three-pointers in a 17 point afternoon. Clark would finish the weekend 11-for-18 from long range for a superb 61%.

BALANCED SCORING
Four Seattle U players recorded double digit points against Utah Tech on Saturday, marking the third time this has happened this season. Sophomore Taliyah Clark finished tied for the game-high with 17, while freshman Mya Moore scored an efficient 15 points. Juniors Irena Korolenko and Peyton Howard round out the double-digit scorers, chipping in 12 and 10 points, respectively.

This was Seattle U's best shooting performance on the season, finishing 26-for-53 from the field for 49.1%.

SCORING CAREER-HIGHS
10 different Redhawks have recorded new career-highs in scoring this season, with sophomore Taliyah Clark's 25 against Utah Valley leading the group. Junior Peyton Howard scored a new career-high 21 in the final game of nonconference at UC San Diego, while junior Irena Korolenko recorded 19 points against CSUN back in the middle of December.

Sophomore Julianna Walker and freshman Mya Moore both logged 18 against Portland State and Eastern Washington, respectively, while freshman Noemie Bariteau (12), Asta Blauenfeldt (13), Sheridan Liggett (10) and Makayla Moore (13) have all recorded double-digit games of their own.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Sam Houston is currently tied for sixth in the WAC Resume seeding with -1.50 point, holding an overall record of 9-10 with a 4-5 record in WAC play. The Bearkats went one and one last weekend, dropping their first matchup with Stephen F. Austin (55-62) before bouncing back against UTRGV (70-65) on Saturday with a five point win. Madelyn Batista and Mikayla Woods both recorded double-doubles against the Vaquerous, with the former finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds and the latter logging 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Bearkats are one of the better three-point shooting teams in the WAC, holding the third overall spot at 32.4%, while also recording the most offense rebounds per game as a team at 17.74. They struggle at the free throw line, holding the third worst percentage at 66.2%, while also assisting on the least amount of baskets per game at 10.63. This will be Sam Houston's first trip to Seattle, claiming the matchup earlier this season, 92-72, in Huntsville to improve to 2-0 all-time against Seattle U.
