TUCSON, Ariz. - Seattle U men's golf wrapped up played at its opening tournament of the spring 2023 season on Tuesday, tying for 12th out of 15 teams at the Arizona Intercollegiate. The two-day, 54-hole event took place at the Tucson Country Club on the 7,072 yards course with a par of 72.
Graduate student Nathan Cogswell was SU's top finisher, tying for 24th with a three-round total of 213 (69-71-73). Cogswell was phenomenal on the par three, finishing first out of 84 in scoring (five-under) and averaging (2.58).
Senior John Morrow (70-74-74) was the next best finisher in his Redhawk debut, while graduate student Jack Rahon (77-71-71) started off slowly before posting two strong performances over the last two rounds. Rounding out the team score are freshman Ben Ragland and Burly Hildreth, finishing with three-round totals of 221 (73-72-76) and 240 (82-79-79), respectively.
The Redhawks' next event will take them to Palm Desert, Calif, for some match play action as they take part in the Wyoming World Match Play Tournament from Feb. 10-11.
