SEATTLE - Seattle U volleyball welcomes Sam Houston to town Thursday for its lone Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup of the week. The match will be broadcasted live on ESPN+ with coverage beginning at 6 p.m. This is the first match between these schools since Sam Houston joined the conference in 2021.
Thursday night's match will look to bring awareness to Leukemia as Seattle U and Camp Kesem partner for the event. Camp Kesem is a non-profit organization with a chapter at SU that collaborates with students to host free summer camps and year-long support for children and teens ages six-18 whose parents or guardians have been affected by cancer.

Seattle U continued its double-digit block streak this past weekend, recording 10 team blocks against both, Grand Canyon and Utah Valley. Marley Hardgrave logged a match high six total block against GCU, while Lauren McCabe's six total block performance against UVU propelled her into the top-10 all-time. The Redhawks are currently posting 2.24 blocks per set, which would rank fourth all-time in DI program history.
OZKAN TO BILBY
Arianna Bilby and Ezgi Ozkan have made quite the pairing for the Redhawk attack, with Bilby leading the team in kills (126) and Ozkan in assists (320). Bilby marked her fourth match of the season with over 15 kills, while Ozkan extended her streak of 25+ assist matches to nine in the match against Utah Valley on Saturday. Both are currently on pace to record more in their respective categories than last season's counterpart with Ozkan just 66 assists away from Darian Goins 386 and Bilby just 107 from Sierra Bartley's 233.
CAN YOU DIG IT
The Redhawks currently hold a team's dig per set of 14.51 which would rank second all-time in their DI history. Katlyn Sipes logged her sixth and seventh consecutive double-digit dig matches, recording 13 in both matches. Bilby and Merima Smajlovic were other Redhawks to register double-digit dig performances over the weekend, setting new career highs with 14 and 12, respectively.
MILESTONES TO WATCH
Seniors Lauren McCabe and Ezgi Ozkan will look to climb up the all-time leaderboards this season. McCabe currently ranks fourth in solo blocks (30) and will look to climb up the top-10 list in total blocks. Ozkan ranks fourth all-time in assists (1,788) and has a chance to become just the fourth Redhawk ever to register 2,000 career assists.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Bearkats currently hold a 4-12 record with a 1-1 record in WAC play. Five set thrillers against Abilene Christian and Stephen F. Austin were how they started the season, dropping the first and winning the second.
Current WAC Defensive Player of the Week, Hannah Baker, leads them on defense with 297 digs on the season, while McKenzie Morvant leads the team in total blocks with 51 and Catherine Krieger leads the team in kills with 164.
