Redhawks Claim More Top Finishes at Day Two of Husky Invite

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Seattle U men's and women's swim have completed Day Two of the Husky Invitational in Federal Way, Washington. Similarly to Day One, the Redhawks had success in both the relay events and individual events, with multiple top finishes in both.

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Seattle U men's and women's swim have completed Day Two of the Husky Invitational in Federal Way, Washington. Similarly to Day One, the Redhawks had success in both the relay events and individual events, with multiple top finishes in both.

In the first finals event of the day, the 200 Medley Relay, both men's and women's teams finished in second place. For the men, the quartet of Nicholas Imig, Brendan Ryan, Eric Thomure, and Michael Luna took home silver in the event with a time of 1:32.01. On the women's side, the team of Lydia Genson, Sarah Cook, Isabella Guadiamos, and Sammy Mosier clocked in a time of 1:45.60, which ties them for the sixth best 200 Medley Relay time in SU history.

The Redhawks also were able to claim multiple top finishes in the individual events. True freshman Sarah Cook continued her streak of impressive performances from Day One of the meet, as she would take third in the 100 Breast in a time of 1:03.72. Cook now moves up to fourth all time in the SU history in the 100 Breast, as she was originally sixth all time.

On the men's side, Eric Thomure had a great race in the 100 Fly. Thomure clocked in a time of 48.73 to place second in the meet, and moves him to fifth all time in SU history in the event. In the 100 Breast, Jaxon Gonzales and Nicholas Imig finished in second and third place, respectively. Gonzales finished the race in 56.13 seconds, while Imig would finish in 56.44. Gonzales now holds the fifth fastest time in the event in SU history, and Imig also cracks into the top-ten list, as he now holds the ninth fastest time in SU history.

The Redhawks will compete in the last day of the Husky Invitational on December 4, with the first event starting at 9 AM PST.
