SEATTLE, Wash. - Seattle U Men's and Women's Swim announces the signings of Danielis Kvederis and Mia David to the 2023 Class.
Danielis Kvederis is a backstroke/freestyle specialist from Klaipeda, Lithuania, and currently attends Vytautas Magnus Education Academy. Kvederis is very talented swimmer, as he has competed for the Lithuanian National Team in the 2022 European Junior Championships in Otopeni, Romania, as well as the 2022 World Junior Championship in Lima Peru.
"Danielis is a cornerstone addition for our building program" said Head Coach Joe Dykstra. "He has big time international racing experience, and will immediately be one of the top swimmers in the WAC, as well as have a chance to make a major impression in the NCAA."
Kvederis is the son of Violeta Kvederine and Povilas Kvederis, and has two siblings, Paula Kvederyte and Deivydas Kvederis. Kvederis plans on majoring in Business at Seattle U, and when he is not competing, he enjoys traveling, playing basketball, ice skating, and volunteering for charity events.
Mia David is a sprint freestyle specialist from St. Paul, Minnesota, and is a senior at Highland Park High School. David has accomplished a lot of impressive feats in her prep career, as she has four All-Conference selections, as well as an All-State selection in 2022. Additionally, she holds school records in the 50 Free, 100 Free, 100 Fly, 200 IM, as well as conference records in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 IM.
David has also had a successful club career, as she competed for the Minnesota Flyers from 2018-2022. Her list of accomplishments includes a 2022 Long Course Senior Championship in the A Division, and a 2019 Short Course Regional Championship in the AA Division.
"Mia is a terrific fit for our team" said Head Coach Joe Dysktra. "She will be an immediate contributor for us not just individually but on our free relays as well."
David is the daughter of Caroline and Raja David, and she has two siblings, India and Siri. She plans on pursuing a career in Social Studies, and when she is not competing, she enjoys art, music, and outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and canoeing.
