SEATTLE - Seattle U men's golf has signed Caleb Davies and Will Koch to its 2023 class, Head Coach Marc Chandonnet announced Friday.
Caleb Davies is a current senior at Langley Fine Arts School in Langley, British Columbia, Canada. He has marked phenomenal low round in 2022, posting an eight-under 64 at the CJGA Opener and a seven-under 63 at the Tsawwassen Springs Fall Classic. Davies finished third place overall at the B.C. Amateur Championships this year.
"It was easy to see that Caleb has all the tools necessary to play at a high level," said Chandonnet. "Caleb is a naturally talented athlete who has a fantastic short game and has already proven that he can play at a National Championship level. He has an energy about him that I know over time will be harnessed into a positive energy for the rest of his teammates."
Will Koch will join the Redhawks after earning his high school degree at La Salle Catholic College Preparatory in Milwaukie, Oregon. A two-time First Team All-State member, Koch won the 2022 5A State Championship as an individual after finishing as the runner up in 2021.
"Will impressed me immediately with his communication and commitment," said Chandonnet. "I could tell right away that this young man was ready to compete and he is certainly appreciative of this opportunity. Hearing how highly our former team captain, Ross Kukula, spoke of Will was a sign that he would be a great fit for our program."
Seattle U will open the fall season at the Arizona Intercollegiate in Tucson, Arizona, from Jan 30-31.
