TACOMA, Wash. - Seattle U women's golf concluded play at the eighth annual Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational on Tuesday, tying eighth out of 21 teams. Graduate student Samantha Bruce (74-70-75) and sophomore Rivekka Jumagulova (73-73-73) both finished in the top-15, tying for 13th overall with a three-round total of 219. The event took place at Tacoma Country and Golf Club in Tacoma, Wash., on the 6,195 yards course with a par of 72.
Gonzaga claims the team title by one stroke over Weber State, while Nevada's Victoria Gailey defeats Cal State Fullerton's Davina Xanh and California Baptist's Hailey Loh in a one hole playoff to earn the individual title.
Freshman Aaryanna Morris posted her best collegiate score of 225 (75-74-76), while sophomore Annika Cruz (78-73-77) finished three strokes behind her and fellow sophomore Shayna Lu (79-76-79) rounds out the team score in her season debut.
Competing as an individuals, senior Azumi Arai (75-74-76) was the Redhawks' top finisher with a three-round total of 225. Sophomore Maria Fedorowycz (78-75-78) shot a season-low three round total of 231, while senior Megan Kelly (80-80-77) and sophomores Konomi Matsubara (87-77-85) and Samantha Yates (85-80-85) all made their season debuts in this tournament.
The Redhawks will conclude the spring season at The Clash at Boulder Creek, hosted by NAU, in Henderson, Nevada, from Oct. 23-25.
