ABILENE, Tex. - Seattle U volleyball opened its Texas weekend on Thursday, falling to Abilene Christian in three sets (22-25, 23-25, 17-25). The Western Athletic (WAC) matchup was played at the Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas.
The Redhawks had moments of strong play but were unable to put it together for an entire set. Senior Shanice Horn (11) and sophomore Arianna Bilby (12) both posted double-digit kills, marking their seventh and 11th time achieving that this season, respectively. Senior Ezgi Ozkan continued her strong play at setter, recording 27 assists, four total blocks and finishing one dig shy of her fifth double-double.
Fellow Senior Lauren McCabe added five total blocks to increase her team leading total blocks tally to 65. Sophomore Erin Goya logged 17 digs for her third straight double-digit dig match, while freshman Chloe Lee set a new career-high in digs with nine.
Seattle U will wrap up its four match road trip on Saturday, taking on Tarleton at 11 a.m. pacific time in Stephenville, Texas.
