SU Claims Fourth, Bruces Ties for Fifth at The Clash at Boulder Creek

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Seattle U women's golf concluded the fall season on Tuesday, finishing fourth out of 17 teams at The Clash at Boulder Creek. Graduate student Samantha Bruce was SU's top finisher, tying for fifth overall with a three round total of five-under 211 (72-71-68). The Northern Arizona hosted event was held at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, on the 6,309 yards course with a par of 72.

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Seattle U women's golf concluded the fall season on Tuesday, finishing fourth out of 17 teams at The Clash at Boulder Creek. Graduate student Samantha Bruce was SU's top finisher, tying for fifth overall with a three round total of five-under 211 (72-71-68). The Northern Arizona hosted event was held at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, on the 6,309 yards course with a par of 72. 

SU finished with a team score of one-under 863 with its best round of 282 coming in the second round. The Redhawks tied for first in pars (184) and tied for second in par four scoring (4.07).

Bruce's top-five finish marks her third of the fall season, leading the team. The native of Makati City, Philippines, improved her performance each round, concluding the event with two birdies and an eagle on the back nine. She played some of her best golf on the par fives, tying for first in averge at 4.42.

Freshman Aaryanna Morris had her best collegiate performance, tying for 13th at even 216 (75- 67-74). Her second round of five-under 67 marks a new career-low round for the native of Avondale, Arizona. 

Senior Azumi Arai (77-71-72) and sophomore Shayna Lu (76-73-73) both finished with three-round totals of 220, while sophomore Rivekka Jumagulova (74-74-73) finished one stroke behind them. 

Seattle U will open the spring season at the Wyoming Match Play Championships in Palm Desert, California, on Feb. 13-14.
