PREVIEW: VB Hosts Utah Valley

SEATTLE - Seattle U volleyball continues its four match home stand on Saturday, welcoming Utah Valley to the Redhawk Center for the lone Western Athletic Conference (WAC) matchup this week. The match will be broadcasted live on ESPN+ with coverage beginning at 2 p.m. The Wolverines took the first match between the two on Sep. 24, winning three sets to zero in Orem.

KILLIN' IT
Arianna Bilby continues her strong debut season for the Redhawks, posting 16 kills in a second straight contest last Thursday against Sam Houston. The native of Arlington, Washington, has recorded double-digit kills in seven matches already this season, making her just four away from tying Sierra Bartley's team-high from last season. The sophomore is currently on pace to finish with 284 kills which would just be 30 short of 10th all-time in one season. 

ALL-AROUND OZKAN
Ezgi Ozkan is having a stellar senior season, leading the team in assists (358) and service aces (14) as well as ranking third in total blocks (30) and fourth in digs (85). The Istanbul, Turkey, native has recorded 20 or more assists in ten straight matches which was only done 12 times by the entire team all of last season. Ozkan is just 22 assists away from being her total from last season and already has three double-doubles this year. 

SOPHOMORE SENSATION SIPES
Katlyn Sipes has been a strong member of the defense this season, recording her eighth straight double-digit dig match against Sam Houston. The native of Montgomery, Ill., had 13 digs on Thursday night, marking her 10th double-digit dig match of the season and tying her overall number of double-digit dig matches from last season. The sophomore is currently on pace to record 284 digs this season, which would be a new career-high.

MILESTONES TO WATCH
Seniors Lauren McCabe and Ezgi Ozkan will look to climb up the all-time leaderboards this season. McCabe currently ranks fourth in solo blocks (30) and just entered the top-10 list in total blocks. Ozkan ranks fourth all-time in assists (1,826) and has a chance to become just the fourth Redhawk ever to register 2,000 career assists. 

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
Since last playing Seattle U, the Wolverines have lost to Sam Houston in five sets and defeated Chicago State on Thursday, three sets to one. Utah Valley plays at its best when it scores on blocks, with Jules Fink leading the team in blocks with 51. Libero Bryton Nixon leads the team in digs (228), while Abbie Miller and Natalie Palmer split setting duty and Tori Dorius and Kazna Tanuvasa lead the attack with both above or near the 150 kills mark.
