OREM, Utah - Seattle U Volleyball concluded its Western Athletic Conference (WAC) opening weekend on Saturday, falling to Utah Valley in thee sets (24-26, 20-25, 19-25). The match was played at the Lockhart Arena on the campus of Utah Valley in Orem, Utah.

OREM, Utah - Seattle U Volleyball concluded its Western Athletic Conference (WAC) opening weekend on Saturday, falling to Utah Valley in thee sets (24-26, 20-25, 19-25). The match was played at the Lockhart Arena on the campus of Utah Valley in Orem, Utah. 

The Redhawks were unable to claim a set in this match, with their best effort coming in set one. Arianna Bilby hit .389 in set one with seven total kills, while the team blocked four total shots. 

SU continues to register double-digit blocks, improving its streak to five straight matches. Lauren McCabe recorded six total blocks, while Ezgi Ozkan had five and Shanice Horn logged a season-high four. 

Katlyn Sipes posted a seventh consecutive double-digit digs match, recording 13 total, while Merima Smajlovic finished with a new career-high in 12.

On offense, Bilby's 16 kills lead both teams in that category and Ozkan made it nine straight matches with 25+ assists. 

Seattle U will return home on Thursday for Leukemia Awareness Night against Sam Houston in the Redhawk Center, with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m.
