Gill Leads Seattle U at Husky Invitational

BREMERTON, Wash. - Seattle U men's golf ended play at its second tournament of the 2022-23 season on Tuesday, finishing 12th out of 15 teams at the Husky Invitational. The two-day, 54 hole event took place on the Olympic and Cascade Course at Gold Mountain Golf Course, with the teams competing on the former and the individuals competing on the latter. The Olympic Course had a yardage of 7,159 and a par of 72, while the Cascade Course had the same yardage with a par of 71.

BREMERTON, Wash. - Seattle U men's golf ended play at its second tournament of the 2022-23 season on Tuesday, finishing 12th out of 15 teams at the Husky Invitational. The two-day, 54 hole event took place on the Olympic and Cascade Course at Gold Mountain Golf Course, with the teams competing on the former and the individuals competing on the latter. The Olympic Course had a yardage of 7,159 and a par of 72, while the Cascade Course had the same yardage with a par of 71.

Sophomore Liam Gill was Seattle U's top finisher, tying for 20th with a three round total of 221 (76-70-75). Gill tied for fourth in par four scoring (4.50) and average (six-under) and set a new career low round of 70. 

Graduate Student Nathan Cogswell (76-71-76) finished two strokes behind Gill, posting a season-best round of 71 in round two. Freshman Ben Ragland (78-74-79) finished with a three-round total of 231, while graduate student Jack Rahon (82-78-73) improved each round and junior Blake Kukula (74-79-82) rounds out the team score.

Freshman Burly Hildreth (76-73-71) and Jakob Balkovec (70-73-77) competed as individuals, finishing with three-round totals of 220.

The Redhawks' next event will be their third in as many weeks as they return to the Nick Watney Invitational, hosted by Fresno State, in Fresno, California.
