COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho - Seattle U women's golf wrapped up its second tournament of the season on Tuesday, finishing ninth out of 19 at the Gonzaga Invitational. Graduate student Samantha Bruce continued her strong start to the season, tying for fifth place overall with a three round total of 212 (72-68-72). The two-day event took place at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, on the the 6,085 with a par of 71.
Bruce's best performance came in round two, shooting a three-under 68 that included five birdies in the round. The native of Makati City, Philippines, lead the field in par three scoring (five-under) and average (2.67) and tied for third in birdies (12).
Sophomore Annika Cruz (71-75-76) shot the next best round of any Redhawk, opening the tournament with a strong round of one-under 71. Senior Azumi Arai (74-76-76) finished four strokes behind her, while sophomore Rivekka Jumagulova (74-72-86) and Maria Fedorowycz (74-81-78) round out the team score with three-round totals of 232 and 233.
The Redhawks will return to action next Monday when they head across the country for the Boston College Intercollegiate in Canton, Mass.
