COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – Seattle U women's golf will begin play at its second tournament of the season on Sunday at the Gonzaga Invitational in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The three-day event is scheduled to take place at Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course on the 6,085 yards course with a par of 71. All three days will feature shotgun starts, with Sunday and Monday starting at 8 a.m. and Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.
The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Cal State Fullerton, Cincinnati, Florida International, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, Hawaii, Long Beach State, Nevada, Northern Arizona, Northern Illinois, Oral Roberts, Sacramento State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, UC Riverside, and Wyoming. Seattle U's team lineup will consist of graduate student Samantha Bruce, senior Azumi Arai and sophomores Annika Cruz, Maria Fedorowycz and Rivekka Jumagulova.
Seattle U has competed in the Gonzaga Invitational four times with Jumagulova being the Redhawks top finisher last season, posting a three-round total of 214 and earning third place overall.
Bruce is coming off a record setting performance at the Green Wave Classic in New Orleans, La., breaking the program record for lowest round (64), lowest round vs. par (8-under), lowest 36 hole total (137) and lowest 54 hole total (210).
