TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Women's Golf at Green Wave Classic

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Seattle U women's golf begins the 2022-23 season on Monday at the Green Wave Classic, hosted by Tulane, in New Orleans, La. The two-day event is scheduled to take place on the 6,158 yards course at the Bayou Oaks at City Park with a par of 72. Both days are slated to have shotgun starts at blank PT.

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Seattle U women's golf begins the 2022-23 season on Monday at the Green Wave Classic, hosted by Tulane, in New Orleans, La. The two-day event is scheduled to take place on the 6,158 yards course at the Bayou Oaks at City Park with a par of 72. Both days are slated to have shotgun starts at 6 a.m. PT. 

The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Arkansas Little-Rock, Central Arkansas, Incarnate World, LSU, Mercer, Nebraska, Northern Colorado, Sam Houston, Tennessee - Chattanooga, Tulane, Tulsa, UNC-Asheville and USF. Seattle U's team lineup will consist of graduate student Samantha Bruce, senior Azumi Arai, sophomores Annika Cruz and Rivekka Jumagulova and freshman Aaryanna Morris

Seattle U brings back many notable returners this season. Bruce was named to the 2021 First Team All-WAC list, while Jumagulova was WAC Freshman of the Year and a All-WAC Second Team member. Arai competed in six tournaments last season, finishing 11th overall at the WAC Championships, while Cruz made three appearances and played two rounds at the WAC Championships. The sole newcomer to this year's team, Morris, joins SU from Avondale, Arizona, where she was a medalist at the North Coast Junior Tour Championships and Prescott City Jr. Championships.
