SEATTLE - Seattle U heads to Huntsville, Texas this week for the WAC Tournament. The Redhawks are the two-time defending WAC Tournament champions, winning it in 2019 and 2021 in addition to making the finals in 2017. Since the WAC reinstated its tournament in 2006, Seattle U is one of three teams to win multiple tourney titles, along with New Mexico State (2011, 2015, 2017, 2018) and Fresno State (2007, 2009). The Redhawks have only made one other trip to Texas under Geoff Hirai, going 2-1 in three games at Tarleton last season.

ALL THEY DO IS WIN
The Redhawks enter the WAC Tournament on a four-game winning streak, the longest active win streak of any WAC team. Seattle U finished the regular season with 15 WAC wins, matching the program's WAC record. Seattle U needs one more win to reach 30 on the season, making it four consecutive full seasons with at least 30 wins. The Redhawks are 9-5 at the WAC Tournament under Geoff Hirai, winning six consecutive WAC Tournament games.

100K
Grace Luderer needs just three more strikeouts to reach 100 on the season.  Luderer would be the first freshman in Seattle U history to strike out 100 or more batters in a season and the fourth ever to do so. The Redhawks have had eight seasons in which an individual struck out at least 100 batters, with the last coming in 2021, when Shi Smith struck out 114. Smith and Carley Nance are the only Redhawks to strike out 100+ in Seattle U's Division I history.

TRIPLES ARE BEST
Olivia Viggiano enters the WAC Tournament on the cusp of several milestones. Last weekend, Viggiano tied Paige Bouska for Seattle U's all-time triples record, recording her 11th. Viggiano also is now sitting at 189 hits, putting her seventh all-time and just five hits behind Kaylee Ree for sixth. Viggiano has 50+ hits in all three of her complete seasons at Seattle U and needs three more for her second 60+ hit season. She would join Bouska and Ally Choate as the only Redhawks with multiple 60+ hit years.

CARLEY THE GOAT
Carley Nance earned her 48th career win in the regular season finale, tying her with Andie Larkins for Seattle U's Division I record. Nance needs just one more shutout to tie Shi Smith for Seattle U's Division I record in that category and is already the DI record holder for complete games with 37. Offensively, one more home run would make Nance the fourth Redhawk ever with 30+ career homers, joining Madison Cathcart (44), Jane Purdy (37), and Bubba Morrow (32).

STEFANIE MADRIGAL IS GOOD
Stefanie Madrigal picked up her 15th win of the year, building on her career high and putting her fourth in the WAC. Madrigal is now just two wins away from tying Seattle U's Division I single-season wins record of 17, held by Carley Nance. Madrigal's 2.24 ERA leads the WAC and is the second-lowest single-season ERA in Seattle U's DI history. She has allowed one or fewer earned runs in 14 of her 20 appearances this season and has suffered just one lost against a WAC opponent in her entire career, coming at New Mexico State earlier this season.
