BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Seattle U men's golf finished round two play at the 2022 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships Saturday, improving to eighth place as a team. Senior Nathan Cogswell (73-67) moved up 15 spots in the round, finishing tied for fifth overall after posting a five-under 67. All five Redhawks improved on their round one scores as the team improved by 21 overall strokes, posting a four-under 284. Sam Houston State increased their first place lead by seven strokes and sit at 11-under.
Cogswell played some of his best golf in round two, converting six birdies overall and only bogeying once in the 18 holes. The Kent, Wash., native improved significantly on the par fours, finishing tied for fourth in average (4.00) and scoring (even).
Senior Jack Rahon (75-73) holds the next best overall score after posting a one-over 73 Saturday, while senior Harrison Murphy (79-71) finished the round with six made birdies for a one-under 71 performance. Sophomore Blake Kukula (78-73) and junior Alex Fowke (84-74) round out the team score with two round totals of 151 and 158.
The third and final round of the WAC Championships tees off on Monday, May 1, at 7:30 a.m. with the Redhawks being one of the first teams to tee off at 7:45 a.m.
