Bruce, Jumagulova Tie for Sixth at Cowgirl Classic

Seattle U women's golf wrapped up play Tuesday at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, finishing 10th out of 16 teams. Senior Samantha Bruce (70-76-73) and freshman Rivekka Jumagulova (72-71-76) led the way for SU over the two-day event, tying for sixth with a three-round total of three-over 219. The event took place at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona, on the 6,191 yards course with a par of 72.

MARICOPA, Ariz. - Seattle U women's golf wrapped up play Tuesday at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, finishing 10th out of 16 teams. Senior Samantha Bruce (70-76-73) and freshman Rivekka Jumagulova (72-71-76) led the way for SU over the two-day event, tying for sixth with a three-round total of three-over 219. The event took place at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa, Arizona, on the 6,191 yards course with a par of 72.

Bruce started the tournament strong, finishing one stroke higher than her season low round of 69. The Makati City, Philippines, native finishes in the top-15 for the third consecutive tournament and fourth overall on the season. 

Jumagulova continues her stellar freshman season, earning a top-10 finish for the fourth time this season. The native of Almaty, Kazakhstan, played her best in the first two rounds, performing at par or better and finished the event with the best par four scoring average (3.90). 

The next best Redhawk was graduate student Keisha Lugito (70-78-73) who showed improvement with her third round score, while junior Azumi Arai (73-79-79) reentered the lineup after a one tournament absence and freshman Shayna Lu rounds out the team score with a three-round total of 242 (81-80-81).

Competing as an individual was graduate student Vendela From, finishing with a three-round total of 234 (77-81-76) in her second appearance of the season. 

The Redhawks look forward to co-hosting the Chamber's Bay Invitational with Washington from Apr. 11-12 at Chamber's Bay Golf Course.
