BELLEVUE - Seattle U baseball got the series opening win over New Mexico State, 6-3, Friday night at Bannerwood Park. 

The standout from the win was Nestor German. After Riley Sinclair started the game on the mound for the Redhawks, German came in at the top of the fourth inning and closed out the remaining six. In the performance, he allowed just two hits while giving up no earned runs, with an additional six strikeouts to pickup his first win of the season. 

The Redhawk offense backed up the performance on the mound by putting six runs on the board. Starting with an RBI by Connor O'Brien in the bottom of the first inning. 

Down 1-2 ion the bottom of the second, a Shane Jamison sac fly tied the game. After the Aggies went back up by one in the fourth, the Redhawks would go on to score the final four runs of the ballgame to snag the series opening win. 

Aidan Welch finished the night going 3-4 at the plate including a run scored. Gavin Rork reached base three times as well, getting two hits and walking once while Matt Boissoneault led the way with two RBI. 

Seattle U improved to 3-1 against the Aggies this season and continue to create separation as the race towards the WAC tournament heats up. 

Game two of the series is scheduled for a 2 PM first pitch tomorrow, April 23 at Bannerwood Park.
